Terms of service
By using Turnpan you agree to what follows. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Who may use Turnpan
Anyone may play as a guest. An account requires that you are old enough to agree to these terms where you live; if you are not, ask a parent or guardian to agree on your behalf.
Your account
One person, one account. You are responsible for what happens under it, so keep your password and your email account secure. A handle that impersonates someone else, or that is abusive, may be changed or withdrawn.
Conduct
Be civil. Harassment, hate speech, spam and sexual content directed at anyone are not allowed in chat, in direct messages or in handles. Reports are reviewed by a moderator, who may mute, suspend or close an account. Any such action applies to the whole account, in every game Turnpan offers.
Fair play
A rated game must be played by you, without engine help and without a second account feeding you results. An account found cheating loses its ratings and may be closed. The analysis tools are for studying finished games, not games in progress.
Supporter subscriptions
A supporter subscription renews automatically until you cancel it, which you can do at any time from your settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves your benefits in place until the period you already paid for ends. Prices are shown before you pay and may change for future periods, never for a period already paid.
Refunds
If you ask within 7 days of a payment, we refund it in full; if you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, that window is 14 days. If a yearly subscription renews and you ask within 14 days of the renewal, we refund that renewal in full. Outside these windows payments are not refunded, in full or in part, but cancelling always keeps your benefits until the paid period ends. To ask for a refund, write to [email protected] from the address on the account. A refund goes back to the original payment method and ends the benefits of the period it covers. None of this limits a refund the law entitles you to.
Availability
Turnpan is provided as it is, and it can be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We do not promise that a game in progress always survives an outage, although the server restores what it can.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using the site and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will say why unless saying so would help someone evade moderation.
Liability
Turnpan is a game site. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or incidental loss arising from using it. Nothing here limits rights of yours that cannot be limited by agreement.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes belong to the courts of Ontario. Where the consumer protection law of the place you live gives you stronger rights, those rights apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date at the top changes, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. A change that materially reduces what a supporter receives applies only from your next renewal.
